Been for the first time tonight. Great to see a pub packed on a Wednesday night ☺Love the beer.Andrea Irvine Rayner of Yarm
Best pub for miles. A proper pub with great beers and a warm welcomeNigel Puttick of Stokesley
I visit the White Swan regularly. It’s a small local pub with plenty of character. It’s frequented by friendly locals who are happy to strike up a conversation with visitors. The pub brews its own real ales and sure to cater for most tastes. Every year the pub holds a beer festival which is great. Plenty of guest ales to choose from. It’s recently started serving food but I can’t comment on this as I’ve not tried it yetJohn Ray of Washington
Great range of beers and real ales. really helpful staff. I’m told the pork pie was wonderful! Exotic decorations with old musical instruments!Beefy of Cambridge
Terrific town pub with warm, friendly atmosphere and a very wide range of excellent draft beers.
Has frequent events and beer festivals. Why can’t all town pubs be this good?Jean of Cirencester
Good atmosphere. Friendly. Great choice of ales. A true pub with a loyal following. “New beer garden as well!Chris of Hutton Rudgy
A lovely pub with a warm welcome in more ways than one – I love the log fire on a cold wintry night! The décor is excellent – the pub is attractive and well used by locals. I particularly like the floral displays, hanging baskets cared for throughout the summer. Friendly welcome and always a good atmosphere. What more can one say?Judith of Stokesley
I have been going to this pub since I was in my teens, and just have to go every time I am visiting family back in the North East. Great traditional pub, with first rate hand pulled beers brewed on site and sourced locally.Duke C of Yorkshire
No visit to Stokesley would be complete without a drink in The Swan. Even our dog asks to go in every time we pass. Busy, bustling with cosy corners and great beer. Grab your drink, sit back and enjoy the atmosphere of this traditional local.Pam of Poulton le Flyde
We been here few times with family and friends and this is the best pub we’ve even been. Great atmosphere and decor, staff very friendly and the owner makes its Capitan Cook Beer in the back of the pub. Doesn’t get any more local than that !!! Great choice and they all taste so good for a very reasonable price.
I highly recommend a visit if you are a local or just passing by the area.
Keep up the hard work and well done to the team !!!Luca of London
This is my kind of pub. A classic English pub, with a great atmosphere and nice little corners to claim as your own. With some beautiful local ales on tap!
Our visit in April was for the beer festival, which was great fun. It was packed to the hilt with people but it was a lovely evening and high quality beer was flowing freely.
It’s an example of what a pub should be and is definitely worth a visit.

Brilliant selection of beer a nice open fire and a nice welcoming atmosphere.
It was a bit packed but why wouldn’t it be with all the selection of ales that they have.Andrina Suggett of Middlesbrough
Have visited this pub many times for the real ale brewed on the premises with ‘Slipway’ a favourite. This weekend was a beer festival with about 30 beers to choose from!!!! Real ale heaven but I still love ‘Slipway’Glimpsy of Seaham
This is a drinking pub with a great character. They brew there own Captain Cook ales here which are superb they gave a choice of other beers too. Great log fire for a cosy feel in winter.Shackleston of Redcar
The choice of ales was fantastic and the pub was cosy and welcoming.
We would liked to have stayed longer but wanted to have a look at other places around.Jude of Scarborough
White Swan Stokesley. superb pub open all hours and sells its own beer brewed in its own micro brewery. All have some connection with Captain Cook The pub was comfortable extremely friendly, and had a superb open fire which blazed away through the day. I cannot speak highly enough for this pub.Chris of New Zealand
Why such a title? The reason being that The White Swan in my humble opinion, is probably one the best pubs in North Yorkshire. A little place of sanctuary at the top end of Stokesley High Street, serving real ale brewed in it’s own microbrewery. In winter time, the first thing you encounter when you walk through the door is a welcoming, real fire blazing away.
The reason I call it a little place of sanctuary, is because in all the times I’ve been in, the atmosphere is very civilised with no coarse swearing or blinding etc to be heard (unlike many establishments in nearby Teesside.) Can get a little busy on Friday evenings, but like any other popular establishment in any other town does.
Just real ale/beer and bottled wine served in a civilised atmosphere – cant get much better than thatJono of Middlesbroughr
After a cycle ride with the kids, a beer was required. Kids not approved, but the landlord was very accommodating for the time of day, and one drink. Cycles placed safely around the back…thank you. Beer…lurrrrrvly. Pub well countrified….great atmosphere, would love the chance to spend a few hours here, kid free, sadly not, likely. Enjoy everyone…great findJan of Newcastle
